가야시사에서 불을 숭배하던 깟사파 삼형제의 개종 후 설해진 “불의 설법”으로, 감각기관과 그 대상들이 모두 탐진치로 불타고 있다고 선언하며, 설법이 끝나자 천 명의 옛 불 숭배자들이 아라한과를 얻었다.

The Fire Sermon, taught at Gayāsīsa after the conversion of the fire-worshipping Kassapa brothers, declaring the senses and their objects all ablaze with lust, hatred and delusion, at whose conclusion the thousand former fire-worshippers attained arahantship.
