ජේතවනයේදී බුදුරදුන් හමුවීමට පැමිණි දෙවියෙක් තමන්ගේ දේපළ ගිනි ගත් නිවසකින් බේරාගත් දේවල් හා සසඳමින්, ප්‍රඥාවන්තයන් අනාගත සුඛය සඳහා එය භුක්ති විඳිමින් දානශීලීව බෙදා දිය යුතු බව උනන්දු කරන සූත්‍රයකි.

A discourse in which a deva visiting the Buddha at Jetavana compares one’s possessions to belongings saved from a burning house, urging the wise to enjoy and give generously in order to secure future happiness.

සියලුම ස්කන්ධයන් ගිනි ගෙන ඇති බව ප්‍රකාශ කරන සූත්‍රයකි; මෙසේ දකින ආර්ය ශ්‍රාවකයා ඒවා පිළිබඳ කලකිරී, ප්‍රඥාවෙන් නිදහස ලබයි.

A discourse declaring that all the aggregates are ablaze, so that the noble disciple who perceives this grows disenchanted with them and attains freedom through knowledge.

‘ගිනි දේශනාව’ ලෙස හඳුන්වන ආදිත්තපරියාය සූත්‍රයට සමාන යැයි කියන සූත්‍රයකි; එම නමම සංයුත්ත නිකායේ දෙවියන්ට දේශනා කරන ලද වර්ගයක නමකි.

A discourse said to be identical with the Ādittapariyāya Sutta, the ‘Fire Sermon’; the same title also names a chapter of discourses to devas in the Saṃyutta collection.
