元来はガルダ王が苦行者に教え、貧しいバラモンへと伝えられた呪文の名で、その力で竜王ブーリダッタを捕らえて手なずけたが、後に打ちのめされてハンセン病者と化した。

Originally the name of a magic spell taught by a Garuḷa king to an ascetic and passed to a poor brahmin, who used its power to capture and tame the Nāga king Bhūridatta before being struck down and turned into a leper.
