원래는 가루다 왕이 한 고행자에게 가르쳐 가난한 바라문에게 전해진 주문의 이름으로, 그 바라문은 이 힘으로 용왕 부리닷타를 붙잡아 길들였으나 훗날 반격당해 나병 환자가 되었다.

Originally the name of a magic spell taught by a Garuḷa king to an ascetic and passed to a poor brahmin, who used its power to capture and tame the Nāga king Bhūridatta before being struck down and turned into a leper.
