Un jātaka dans lequel le Bouddha, répondant à l’effroi du roi Pasenadi d’avoir entendu les cris des êtres en enfer, raconte un ancien roi de Bārāṇasī qui entendit huit sons étranges à minuit qui le terrifièrent, jusqu’à ce que le Bodhisatta montre qu’ils avaient des causes entièrement naturelles.

A Jātaka in which the Buddha, responding to King Pasenadi’s alarm over hearing cries from beings in hell, tells of a former king of Bārāṇasī who heard eight strange midnight sounds that terrified him until the Bodhisatta showed they had entirely natural causes.
