Personヴェッタの支配者一族に生まれた長老で、父の遺産を相続した後、仏陀の説法を聞いて改心し、還俗を懇願しに来た嘆き悲しむ親族に宛てた偈を『長老偈』に残した。
An elder born into a ruling family of Veṭṭha who, after inheriting his father’s estate, was converted upon hearing the Buddha teach and left verses in the Theragāthā addressed to grieving kinsmen who came begging him to return.
