나가왕 다타랏타의 딸이자 보디삿타 부리닷타의 이복 여동생인 나가 공주로, 불을 뿜고 독을 뱉을 수 있었으며 뱀 부리는 사람 알람바나에게서 오빠를 구출하는 것을 도왔다. 후생에는 비구니 웁팔라반나였다.

A Nāga princess, daughter of the Nāga king Dhataraṭṭha and half-sister of the Bodhisatta Bhūridatta, who could breathe flame and spit venom and helped rescue her brother from the snake-charmer Ālambāna; in a later life she was the nun Uppalavaṇṇā.
