サーヴァッティーで仏陀が名にふさわしく非暴力を実践するよう励ましたバーラドヴァージャ兄弟の一人で、後に阿羅漢になったと言われる人物。

One of the Bhāradvāja brothers whom the Buddha, at Sāvatthi, encouraged to live up to his name by practising harmlessness, and who is said to have later become an Arahant.
