  • 마가다 왕 빔비사라의 아들이자 후계자로, 태자 시절 데바닷타의 영향을 받아 왕위를 찬탈하고자 부친을 시해했으나 훗날 그 행위를 깊이 뉘우쳤다.

  • Son and successor of King Bimbisāra of Magadha, who as crown prince fell under the influence of Devadatta, had his father killed to seize the throne, and later felt deep remorse for the deed.
