부처님을 겁주어 쫓아내려다 실패한 뒤 제자가 된 야차로, 후에 파와에서 그에게 제물을 바치는 사당으로 공경받았다.

A yakkha who tried unsuccessfully to frighten and drive away the Buddha before becoming his disciple, later honoured with a shrine at Pāvā where sacrifices were offered to him.
