सावत्थी के एक उदार दाता की प्रशंसा में सुनाई गई जातक कथा, जिसने बुद्ध और भिक्षुओं को सात दिनों तक भोजन कराया, जिसमें बुद्ध बताते हैं कि प्राचीन काल के बुद्धिमान लोग केवल पत्तों और पानी पर जीवित रहते हुए भी अपनी संपत्ति दूसरों के साथ बांटते थे।
