붓다와 비구들을 이레 동안 대접한 사왓티의 자비로운 시주를 칭송하기 위해 이야기된 자타카로, 붓다는 옛날의 현자들이 나뭇잎과 물만으로 연명하면서도 자기 소유물을 남과 나누었다고 말한다.

A Jātaka related in praise of a generous donor of Sāvatthi who feasted the Buddha and the monks for seven days, in which the Buddha tells how wise men of old shared their possessions with others even while surviving on nothing but leaves and water.
