형이 개종한 것에 격분하여 붓다를 모욕하러 갔다가 오히려 자신이 교화되어 나중에 아라한과를 얻은 라자가하의 바라문으로, 붓다를 비방하는 오백 편의 시구를 지었기 때문에 악코사카(‘욕하는 자’)라는 별명을 얻었다.

A brahmin of Rājagaha who, enraged at his elder brother’s conversion, visited the Buddha to insult him but was himself converted and later attained Arahantship, earning the epithet Akkosaka (‘the abuser’) for having composed a 500-verse lampoon against the Buddha.
