死の床にある銀行家アナータピンディカに、サーリプッタが世俗のものに執着しないよう説き諭す経典で、死を前に彼を涙させ、後に神として仏陀を礼拝することになったという話である。

A discourse in which Sāriputta exhorts the banker Anāthapiṇḍika, as he lay dying, not to cling to worldly things, moving him to tears before his death and rebirth as a deva who later pays homage to the Buddha.
