죽림정사에서 설해졌으며, 데바닷따와 꼬깔리까가 신도를 모으려고 서로 아첨했던 일에 관한 이야기로, 죽은 짐승을 먹는 자칼과 거기서 이익을 얻고자 아첨하는 까마귀의 이야기를 통해 전해지며, 둘 다 데바닷따와 꼬깔리까에 비유되는 자타카.

A Jātaka taught at Veḷuvana in reference to Devadatta and Kokālika, who flattered each other to gain followers, told through the story of a jackal eating a carcass whom a flattering crow hoped to profit from, the two being identified with Devadatta and Kokālika.
