本生故事，於竹林精舍所說，講述提婆達多與俱迦利互相吹捧以拉攏信眾，喻以一隻豺狼在啃食牛屍時被一隻諂媚的烏鴉討好望分一杯羹，二者分別是提婆達多與俱迦利的前身。

A Jātaka taught at Veḷuvana in reference to Devadatta and Kokālika, who flattered each other to gain followers, told through the story of a jackal eating a carcass whom a flattering crow hoped to profit from, the two being identified with Devadatta and Kokālika.
