  • 여래가 죽은 뒤에도 존재하는가라는 질문에 대한 답변 때문에 유행하는 고행자들에게 어리석다고 조롱당한 장로. 붓다는 결국 이생에서조차 여래의 존재에 대해 아무것도 말할 수 없다고 설명하였다.

  • An elder whom wandering ascetics mocked as foolish for his answer on whether a Tathāgata exists after death, until the Buddha explained that nothing can even be said of a Tathāgata’s existence in this very life.
