아누룻다 숫타와 동일시되는 경으로, 아누룻다가 일곱 가지 대인의 사유를 명상하던 중 부처님이 나타나시어 법은 희론을 즐기는 자가 아니라 적은 것에 만족하는 자를 위한 것이라는 여덟 번째 사유를 더해 주시니, 이후 아누룻다는 아라한과를 얻는다.

A discourse identified with the Anuruddha Sutta, in which the Buddha appears before Anuruddha while he meditates on seven great thoughts and adds an eighth — that the Dhamma is for one content with little, not for one who delights in proliferation — after which Anuruddha attains Arahantship.
