พระสูตรที่รู้จักกันในชื่ออนุรุทธสูตร พระพุทธเจ้าเสด็จปรากฏต่อหน้าพระอนุรุทธ์ขณะทรงเจริญมหาปุริสวิตกเจ็ดประการ แล้วทรงเพิ่มประการที่แปด คือธรรมนี้มีไว้สำหรับผู้สันโดษในสิ่งน้อย มิใช่สำหรับผู้ยินดีในความฟุ้งซ่าน หลังจากนั้นพระอนุรุทธ์บรรลุอรหัตผล

A discourse identified with the Anuruddha Sutta, in which the Buddha appears before Anuruddha while he meditates on seven great thoughts and adds an eighth — that the Dhamma is for one content with little, not for one who delights in proliferation — after which Anuruddha attains Arahantship.
