A brahmin teacher of a bygone age, one of a group of chief priests who practiced harmlessness and abstained from meat, and who were reborn in the Brahma world along with their many disciples.

According to Tibetan sources, a king of Sāvatthi named Araṇemi Brahmadatta, father of Pasenadi, who was exiled and lived in Campā.
