Īsadhara

Person

One of the seven mountain ranges encircling Mount Sineru, an abode of deva kings, devas, and yakkhas, lying between Karavīka and Yugandhara.

One of the seven ranges of mountains round Sineru. It is the abode of deva kings and of devas and yakkhas (SnA.ii.443; Sp.i.119; Dvy.217). It is higher than Karavīka, and between these two is a Sīdantara-samudda; next to Īsadhara and higher than it is Yugandhara, and between them is another Sidantara-samudda (J.vi.125).

The Mahāvastu (ii.300) calls it Isāndhara (suggesting its probable etymology).
