Akkhakkhāyika
Place杜達伽摩尼在位期間發生於斯裡蘭卡科塔山區的一場饑荒,因當時人們以充作骰子的 akkha 堅果充飢而得名。
A famine in the mountain-region of Koṭṭa in Sri Lanka, during the reign of Duṭṭhagāmaṇī.
The king sold his earrings and procured a meal for five Arahants (Mhv.xxxii.29-30). The famine was so called because nuts called akkha (Terminalia Bellerica) were eaten, which at other times were used as dice. In the Commentary, quoted by the Mahāvaṃsa Ṭīkā (p.593), the famine is called Pāsānachātaka.
