One of the two chief disciples of the Buddha Anomadassī, who taught Sarada the ascetic on the occasion of the latter’s resolve to become a chief disciple himself.

One of the two chief disciples of Anomadassī Buddha. J.i.36; BuA.145; DhA.i.88 ff. The Bu (viii.22) calls him Asoka.

He taught Sarada-tāpasa on the occasion when the latter made up his mind to become a chief disciple (aggasāvaka) himself.
