An elder residing at the Koṭipabbata monastery in Sri Lanka who, possessing the divine eye, marvelled at seeing that a woman had once been reborn as a pig, and whose exclamation led her to learn her own past life and gain the power to see her own past births.

A Thera, incumbent of the Koṭipabbata-vihāra in Sri Lanka. He evidently possessed the divine-eye and, seeing how Sumana, wife of Lakuṇṭaka-atimbara, had once been a pig, he expressed marvel that such things should happen. She heard his exclamation, and having learnt from him the story of that past life, she herself got the power of seeing her past lives. DhA.iv.50-1.
