A discourse in which the Buddha personally visits Anuruddha to teach him the eighth of the eight thoughts of a great man, completing his path to Arahantship.

On the eight thoughts of a great man (mahāpurisa vitakka).

Anuruddha had acquired seven of them and the Buddha paid him a special visit to teach him the eighth, which brought him Arahantship. Later the Buddha repeated the discourse to the monks. A.iv.228 ff.
