A class of devas present when the Mahāsamaya Sutta was taught, described as the hue of azure flowers, though Buddhaghosa takes the same term as naming a different class of devas.

A class of devas who were present at the teaching of the Mahāsamaya Sutta.

They were like azure flowers in hue (ummāpupphanibhāsino). D.ii.260.

Buddhaghosa, however, explains “ummāpupphanibhāsina” as being the name of another class of devas (DA.ii.690).
