A co-leader, with Punabbasu, of the unruly monk faction called the Assaji-Punabbasukā, one of the notorious ‘Group of Six’ monks; a sutta of the same name records the Buddha’s visit to the other monk Assaji.

One of the leaders of the Assaji-Punabbasukā (q.v.), the other being Punabbasu. He was one of the Chabbaggiyā, the others being Mettiya-Bhummajaka, Paṇḍuka-Lohitaka J.ii.387; MA.ii.668.
