Assapura
Placeඅංග රාජ්යයේ නගරයකි, බුදුන් වහන්සේ එහිදී මහා- සහ චූළ-අස්සපුර සූත්ර දේශනා කළහ; චේතිය ජාතකයට අනුව අපචාර රජුගේ පුත්රයෙක් එහි සුදු අශ්වයෙකු දුටු පසු එය ඉදිකළේය.
A city in the kingdom of Aṅga. It was here that the Mahā-Assapura and Cūḷa-Assapura Suttas were taught by the Buddha (M.i.271 ff; 281 ff; MA.i.483).
According to the Cetiya Jātaka, Assapura was built by the second of the five sons of King Apacara of Ceti, on the spot where he saw a pure white horse. It lay to the south of Sotthivatī, Upacara’s capital. J.iii.460.
