Personタッカシラーで学び宗教的な托鉢者となったバーラーナシーのバラモンとしての菩薩で、後に王の求めに応じ王家の庭園に住みながら、いかに勧められても王に何一つ求めることはなかった。
The Bodhisatta. He came of a brahmin family of Bārāṇasī, studied at Takkasilā and later became a religious mendicant.
He lived in the royal garden at the king’s request, but would never ask the king for anything even when pressed to do so. J.iii.352 f.
