Aṭṭhasadda Jātaka
Jātaka지옥 중생들의 울부짖음을 듣고 놀란 파세나디 왕에게 답하며 붓다가 들려주는 이야기. 옛 바라나시 왕이 한밤중에 여덟 가지 기이한 소리를 듣고 두려워했으나 보디삿타가 그것들이 온전히 자연스러운 원인에서 비롯됨을 보여줄 때까지의 이야기를 전하는 자타카.
Taught at Jetavana. Pasenadi, having heard one night a cry uttered by four inhabitants of hell, sought the advice of the Buddha (The story is given in full in the Lohakumbhi Jātaka; J.iii.43 f).
The Buddha tells him of a former king of Bārāṇasī who, when seated on his bed at midnight, heard eight unusual sounds which frightened him until they were shown by the Bodhisatta to be quite natural. J.iii.428-34.
