Bhātikatissa
PersonFils de Mahallanāga et roi de Sri Lanka pendant vingt-quatre ans, il fit construire un mur autour du Mahāvihāra, érigea plusieurs monastères, construisit un réservoir et une salle d’uposatha au Thūpārāma, et eut pour successeur son frère cadet Kaniṭṭha-Tissa.
Son of Mahallanāga and king of Sri Lanka for twenty-four years (203-227 A.C.)
He built a wall round the Mahāvihāra.
He erected the Gavaratissa° and Bhātikatissa-vihāras and built the Mahāmani reservoir, and also built an uposatha hall in the Thūpārāma.
He was succeeded by his younger brother, Kaṇiṭṭha-Tissa. Mhv.xxxvi.1 ff; Dpv.xxii.18, 20, 30, 31.
