Bhātikatissa
PersonSon of Mahallanāga and king of Sri Lanka for twenty-four years, who built a wall around the Mahāvihāra, erected several monasteries, constructed a reservoir and an uposatha hall at the Thūpārāma, and was succeeded by his younger brother Kaniṭṭha-Tissa.

He built a wall round the Mahāvihāra.
He erected the Gavaratissa° and Bhātikatissa-vihāras and built the Mahāmani reservoir, and also built an uposatha hall in the Thūpārāma.
He was succeeded by his younger brother, Kaṇiṭṭha-Tissa. Mhv.xxxvi.1 ff; Dpv.xxii.18, 20, 30, 31.
