Bhūmija Sutta2
SuttaA discourse in which Sāriputta explains to Bhūmija Thera that feeling arises dependent on contact rather than the views on kamma held by other teachers, a teaching the Buddha confirms.
Bhūmija Thera approaches Sāriputta and questions him about the various views taught by other recluses and brahmins regarding kamma being the cause of feeling. Sāriputta explains that feeling is dependently arisen, and is conditioned by contact. Ānanda hears their conversation and relates it to the Buddha, who confirms what Sāriputta had taught to Bhūmija. S.ii.38.
