Cūḷasūva Jātaka
JātakaA Jātaka whose past story matches an earlier, longer tale about a wise parrot, told in reference to the Buddha’s stay at Verañjā, where for the three months of the rains he had to subsist on ground root-flour because of Māra’s malign influence.
The story of the past is the same as that of the Mahāsūva Jātaka (q.v.) It was related in reference to the Buddha’s visit to Verañjā, where, for the three months of the rainy season, he had to live on water and a modicum of the ground flour of roots, because of the evil influence of Māra.
