Cūḷa-Assapura Sutta
Suttaアッサプラで説かれたこの経は、袈裟や木の下に住むこと、経典の読誦、一日三回の沐浴が真の沙門たらしめるのではなく、あらゆる悪しき性質を捨て去ることこそがそうだと説く。
Taught at Assapura to the assembled monks.
It is not the robe that makes the recluse, nor living under a tree, nor intoning texts, bathing three times a day, etc.
It is by putting away all the evil qualities that a man becomes a true monk. M.i.281-4.
