A Universal Monarch of ancient times who, when the signs of his Wheel-treasure’s disappearance appeared, handed the kingdom to his eldest son to become a hermit, and later taught that son how he too could become a Universal Monarch.

A Cakkavatti of long ago.

When his Wheel (cakka) showed signs of disappearing, he handed the kingdom over to his eldest son and became a hermit.

Later he taught his son how he, in turn, could become a Cakkavatti. D.iii.59 f.
