Dhītaro Sutta

Sutta

一部经,记述魔罗兵败后,其女渴爱、不乐与贪欲试图诱惑佛陀却徒劳无功,只得向魔罗禀报失败。

When Māra retires discomfited in his struggle with the Buddha, his daughters, Taṇhā (craving), Arati (discontent), and Ragā (passion), undertake to seduce the Buddha. They appear before him in various forms and guises, but all their attempts are in vain, and they report their failure to Māra. (S.i.124 f.

The sutta is referred to as the Kumārīpañha at A.v.46; cp. DhA.i.202). See also Palobhana Sutta.
