Duddada Jātaka

カーシの婆羅門から苦行者となった菩薩とその仲間がバーラーナシーの人々から食事を施された物語で、サーヴァッティーの二人の若者が仏陀と僧団に食事を施すための募金を組織したことに関連して語られた本生話。

v.l. Dudda°, Dudada°.– Once the Bodhisatta was a brahmin of Kāsi and, after being educated in Takkasilā, became an ascetic in the Himavā. When he and his fellow ascetics visited Bārāṇasī for salt and seasoning, the people gathered together and gave them food. The story was told in reference to two young men who made a collection in Sāvatthi to feed the Buddha and his monks (J.ii.85 f).
