Dummukha
PersonMột tù trưởng Licchavi, sau khi chứng kiến Nigaṇṭha Saccaka thua cuộc tranh luận với Đức Phật, đã ví ông ta như con cua bị kéo lên từ ao và bị lũ trẻ trong làng hành hạ; chú giải ghi rằng dù tên ông có nghĩa là xấu xí, thực ra ông khá đẹp trai.
A Licchavi chieftain. He was present at the discussion of the Nigaṇṭha Saccaka with the Buddha, and seeing Saccaka discomfited in the debate, Dummukha compared him to a crab pulled out of a pond and ill-treated by village boys (M.i.234).
The Commentary says (MA.i.459) that Dummukha (ugly) just happened to be his name. He was in reality quite handsome.
