Also called the Dīghāgama or Dīghasaṅgaha.

It forms the first book of the Sutta Piṭaka and consists of thirty-four long suttas, divided into three chapters (vagga):

Sīlakkhandha,

Mahā Vagga and

Pāṭikavagga (Pāṭheya).

Buddhaghosa wrote a commentary on the work called the Sumaṅgalavilāsinī.
