Dīghavidassa-bhātā
TextA figure mentioned in the Khuddakapāṭha Commentary who is said to have burned in hell for four Buddha-intervals with a body sixty leagues tall, together with five hundred families who shared his views.
The Khuddakapāṭha Commentary (KhA.126 f ) contains a reference to a “Dīghavidassabhātā” to the effect that, for the space of four Buddha-intervals, he burnt in hell, going up and down, his body sixty leagues in height, and five hundred families who accepted his views suffered with him.
