Ekapattadāyaka
PersonAn arahant who, ninety-one world-cycles ago as a potter of Haṃsavatī, gave a well-made clay bowl to a Buddha and, as a result, always thereafter ate from bowls of gold and silver; he is thought to be the same person as the elder Mahācunda.
An Arahant. In the past, ninety-one world-cycles ago, he was a potter of Haṃsavatī, and once gave a well-made bowl of clay to the Buddha. As a result, he always had his food in gold and silver bowls (Ap.ii.444).
He is probably identical with Mahācunda Thera. See ThagA.i.262.
