Gaṅgātaṭa
Place악가보디 2세가 건설한 스리랑카의 저수지로, 후에 군사 기지로 사용되었으며, 오늘날의 칸탈라이로 비정되는, 가자바후 왕이 마지막 평화로운 날들을 보내고 죽은 곳.
A reservoir in Sri Lanka, built by Aggabodhi II (Cv.xlii.67). The country around the reservoir was used as a base in Parakkamabāhu’s war against Gajabāhu (Cv.lxx.286, 300). Gajabāhu lived there in comparative peace during his last days, and he also died there (Cv.lxxi.l, 5). Later, Māgha and Jayabāhu erected fortifications in Gaṅgātata (Cv.lxxxiii.15).
