A forest in Madhurā where Mahā Kaccāna stayed, teaching the Madhura Sutta to King Avantiputta and receiving a visit from the brahmin Kaṇḍarāyana.
v.l. Kuṇḍavana.– A forest in Madhurā.
Mahā-Kaccāna stayed there and was visited by Avantiputta, king of Madhurā, to whom he taught the Madhura Sutta (M.ii.83 f), and by the brahmin Kaṇḍarāyana (A.i.67 f).
The full name of the forest seems to have been Kaṇhagundāvana (MA.ii.738; J.R.A.S., 1894, 349).
