PersonA heretical sect in Jambudīpa, so named because its members lived on Mount Himavata, who held that a Bodhisatta is not an ordinary mortal, that even outsiders can possess the five higher knowledges, and that the individual is distinct from the aggregates.

They were so called because they lived on Mount Himavata (Rockhill, Life of Buddha, p.184).
They held that a Bodhisatta was not an ordinary mortal, that even a outsider (tīrthaka) could have the five higher knowledges (abhiññā), that the individual (puggala) is separate from the aggregates (khandhā). Ibid., 190.
