La rivière sur les rives de laquelle se trouvait le bois de sal Upavattana des Mallas de Kusinārā, où le Bouddha s’éteignit, identifiée au Petit Gandak.

A river, on the bank of which was the Upavattana Sālavana of the Mallā of Kusinārā, where the Buddha died (D.ii.137).

It is identified with the Little Gandak; it flows through the district of Gorakhpur, about eight miles west of Great Gandak, and falls into the Gogrā, (Sarayū). Law, Geography, 37.
