Illisa Jātaka
Jātaka지독하게 인색하기로 악명 높은 남자에 관한 이야기로, 마하목갈라나가 마찬가지로 인색한 은행가를 교화한 일에 빗대어 설해지며, 그 은행가는 이 구두쇠의 전생이고, 작은 것을 크게 만드는 신통력의 예로 인용되는 자타카.
The story of Illisa. The Jātaka was related in reference to the conversion by Mahā-Moggallāna of the banker Maccharikosiya (q.v.) of Sakkhara. Illisa of the past is identified with Macchariyakosiya (J.i.345 ff).
The story is given as an example of psychic powers (iddhi) by means of which Moggallāna made a little thing increase manifold. Vism.ii.403.
