Jagatipāla
PersonA king of Sri Lanka who came from Ayojjhā claiming descent from Rāma, ruled Rohaṇa after defeating a rival, and was eventually slain by the Coḷas; his daughter later married King Vijayabāhu I.
King of Sri Lanka (1047-51 A.C.). He came from Ayojjhā, and claimed descent from the race of Rāma. Having slain Vikkamapaṇḍu he ruled in Rohaṇa until he himself was slain by the Coḷā (Cv.lvi.13 f).
He had a daughter named Līlāvatī, who later became the consort of Vijayabāhu I. Cv.lix.23 f.
