A Paribbājaka.
The Saṃyuttanikāya records visits paid by him to Sāriputta at Nāḷakagāma and discussions between them on various topics, such as nibbāna, Arahantship, the corruptions (āsava), personality-view (sakkāya-diṭṭhi), ignorance, the Noble Eightfold Path, etc. (S.iv.251-60)
The Commentary (SA.iii.91) says that he was a nephew of Sāriputta and a clothed (channa) paribbājaka.
