TextA Nigaṇṭha ascetic for whom King Paṇḍukābhaya built a residence at Anurādhapura, on the site of which the Abhayagiri monastery was later built.
A Nigaṇṭha, for whom Paṇḍukābhaya built a house to the east of the Nīcasusāna at Anurādhapura (Mhv.x.97). The Mahāvaṃsa Ṭīkā (p.296) calls him a Nagaravaḍḍhakī. The Abhayagiri-vihāra was later erected on the spot occupied by Jotiya’s residence. MT.620.
